Ciudad Quesada

Gestalihome sells homes in Ciudad Quesada, an urbanization located in the southern part of the Rojales municipality, 6 km from the Mediterranean Sea. Most of the population is foreigners, mainly English. Currently about 30,000 homes make up Ciudad Quesada.

Its location is great, next to La Marquesa golf course and with the beaches of Guardamar del Segura just ten minutes away by car. In addition, it is partially surrounded by the La Mata lagoon, a space of biodiversity and full nature with 700 hectares of surface.

The inhabitants of Ciudad Quesada are, for the most part, of British and Central European nationality, so there is a multicultural atmosphere to which some shops contribute with typical products from these areas of the old continent. This characteristic is mixed with the distinctive tranquility without risk of boredom that Ciudad Quesada offers.

It is a relatively new area of Rojales that has been expanded to include the pleasant urbanizations of Pueblo Lucero, Doña Pepa, Pueblo Bravo and Lo Pepín. While it is not beachfront, it is close enough to shore to allow you to catch glimpses of the tantalizing sunrises and sunsets of the sparkling Mediterranean.

The city also has exceptional views over the famous Torrevieja lagoons, which are among the most important working salt lakes in Europe; along with the impressive view of the Sierra de Orihuela, an important natural reserve and seedbed of flora and fauna, and the exuberant “La Marquesa” street.

It houses a wide variety of bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets, along with several banks, dental clinics, pharmacies, hairdressers, newsagents, tobacconists and a new Medical Center located in the Doña Pepa urbanization. There is also a cultural center that hosts a variety of shows, workshops and exhibitions; and a city hall to support residents with all kinds of local housing / welfare issues and other important paperwork. Food and tapas are available to eat or take away.

The Aqua Park is another popular attraction, which opened 30 years ago to become the second largest water park in the country, with a selection of slides, pools and sunbathing areas, and is open from the end of May to the end of September.

One of the things that has really contributed to Quesada being recognized internationally is its prestigious golf course, “Club de Golf Quesada”, which was founded in 1989 by one of the founders of the city, Mr. Justo Quesada. Its proximity to the provincial capital, Alicante, and the bustling city of Torrevieja caused interest in the club to spread rapidly, making it one of the most popular courses in the region. It changed its name to “La Marquesa Golf & Country Club” in 1994, in line with an ambitious Real Estate Project launched by the Quesada Family, which involved the creation of some 15,000 homes in the first instance.

The club is also home to one of the most impressive driving ranges on the Spanish east coast, with an area for long and fast swings with artificial grass (in the covered area) or natural grass, as well as an approach, chipping and bunker area.
