Formentera del Segura

Gestalihome sells homes in Formentera del Segura, located in the south of the Alicante Province, it is a typically agricultural municipality with pre-eminence of the cultivation of citrus, vegetables and cereals. Also noteworthy is the beekeeping, honey production activity. Formentera del Segura is located on the left bank of this river from which it takes its surname, practically attached to its bed, from which it is fed by one of its main attractions. the green and recreational areas in the lands freed from the channeling of the river.

The town is crossed by the CV-91 highway that puts it in contact with all directions. One of its peculiarities is that one of its neighborhoods is practically in the urban area of the neighboring municipality of Rojales, and its streets and sidewalks merge between one town and another.

Of Islamic origin, it was the lordship of Juan de Portugal (1357-1433), later passing into the hands of the Marquesses of Algorfa, the Counts of Casa Rojas and finally their descendant Don José Joaquín María de Rojas and Canicia de Franchi.

Formentera del Segura belonged to the municipality of Orihuela until 1731, the date on which it became independent through the Alfonsine privilege.
According to the 2007 census, 36.6% of the population is of foreign nationality, mainly British and, to a lesser extent, Moroccans, Ecuadorians and nationals of other European countries.

It is a population dedicated mainly to agriculture and the work of the Segura garden. The beekeeping and honey production industry is also relevant.
