The Costa Cálida is located in the region of Murcia, it has 250km of coastline and, as its name suggests, its water is especially warm, it is the warmest coast in the Mediterranean with a temperature of 5ºC more than in the rest of its coasts. In addition to the warmth of the water, its incredible warm climate stands out, with an annual average of 19ºC and a very low level of rainfall, making it an ideal destination for any time of the year.
On this beautiful coast we will find the Mar Menor, separated from the Mediterranean by a strip of sand 22km long and between 100 and 1000m wide depending on the section, creating a large salty lagoon that is actually the largest lagoon in Spain. The Mar Menor is characterized by its incredibly transparent and very shallow waters, which makes it ideal for traveling with children.
Although it is the best known destination, the Costa Cálida is not only the Mar Menor, we can also enjoy beautiful cliffs, long paradisiacal white sand beaches, wild coves as well as small and charming towns. Some of the most famous beaches on the Costa Cálida are Playa de Calblanque in Cartagena, the kilometer-long Playas de la Manga, Playa del Mar de Cristal in the Mar Menor and the natural Barraca Quemada beach in San Pedro del Pinatar.
