La Nucía

it is located in a valley of fruit trees between Polop de la Marina, Benidorm and Callosa de Ensarriá 3 km. from the coast of Altea. The town center is located on a promontory overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, 51 km north of Alicante and 8 km north of Benidorm.

From Alicante, you can access this town by the AP-7 or the N-332, then taking the CV-70 at the height of Benidorm.

Its traditional source of income, agriculture, has been seen in recent decades first reinforced and then surpassed by tourism. Almond and olive groves predominate in altitude and citrus, medlar and persimmon in the valley.

What to see in La Nucía:

University Headquarters: the old building of the San Rafael Public School located in the heart of the urban area and inaugurated in 1936 has been renovated and expanded in 2007 to become the permanent headquarters of the University Seu of the University d'Alacant de La Nucía. The project is a design by the local architect José Luis Campos Rosique.

Monte del Calvario: it is a mountain where you can see the entire municipality and see the surrounding municipalities such as the city of Altea and its beaches.

Hermitage of San Vicente Ferrer: it dates from 1803 and is located in a natural and historical setting.

La Favara Fountain: a large garden where you can see the typical plants and trees of the Mediterranean climate. Its great waterfall and its fountains make it a refreshing place in hot summers where many people gather to eat under its century-old trees.

Mediterranean Auditorium: Cultural space, opened in 2007, which has a total area of 4448 square meters.
The complex also has rehearsal and work rooms for two dance schools, two music schools, a painting workshop, two exhibition rooms, an auditorium and conferences, a Municipal Library, a cafeteria, offices and warehouses.
